A short baby doll style dress made with bright colors and wild designs will look great when paired with a pair of white or neon colored go-go boots. Not all of the hippie outfits were baby doll dresses, though.

Remember the loose fitting pants with huge flowers that were all a rage back when? These pants always had the huge flared bottoms at the end and sometimes they were a contrasting color.

You can find this kind of costume that will definitely take you back to a time of Woodstock and peace signs. If you wanted to just use a hippie shirt as a costume and add your own pants, then you can get a wig and sunglasses and have a complete costume.

There are also mod Halloween costumes that feature the large geometric shapes on the short dresses. You can get them in bright colors or in black and white with the front halves of the dress made with two different colors. Bell sleeves, big hair and flashy style make this a costume that won’t be forgotten.

If you’re looking for a retro style dress that’s done in the style that was popular during Lucille Ball’s reign as the queen of comedy, then you’ll love the swing dresses. These come with bust material pieces that stand out from the rest of the dress. Petticoats give the dresses that popular 50s style. These costumes come in a variety of colors including the polka dots that were all the rage back then.

Go-Go costumes are popular for the short dress style and the high boots. The Fanta costumes with the sides cut out in a circle indention on either side looks great in any of the bold colors. These are the same style as the Go-Go dancer costumes.

If you want to go a little further back in time, you can pick up a poodle skirt and short button up sweater over a collared shirt. Add the black and white shoes that all the girls favored during the 50s and the outfit will rock the night.

The style that Jackie Kennedy introduced to women was copied the world over and looks fabulous as a Halloween costume. This costume is a straight dress with the signature belt and pill box hat.

Disco outfits make great Halloween costumes if you’re looking for a 70s costume like those outfits you see in Saturday Night Fever. And the 80s pop star outfits that resemble Madonna’s most popular look or Cyndi Lauper should be considered because girls just wanna have fun!
