Making The Most of Your Eye Shadow Makeup

June 11, 2012 | By More

There are some people that can go completely without makeup and can always feel good about they way that they look (although, even these people benefit from a little bit of makeup). This is not something that most feel, as they usually wear at least one thing that they think helps with something they do not like about their face. There are many women who will do something to enhance their eyes with eye shadow makeup when they will not wear anything else. Make sure you are using it right for the very best look that you can get.

There are many colors that come into style each season. There are some that will choose their eye shadow makeup along these lines. Though there is nothing wrong with that, it is not always the best choice. Keep in mind that eyeshadow was originally intended to enhance the natural coloring around the eye, not plaster on a painted look. Still, there are certain colors that make each eye color pop out, and that is the very best way to make the most of your eyes to enhance how you feel about yourself. For example, if you have green eyes, you want to use green and/or a purple shades of eye shadow makeup to make those green eyes shine bright.

There are other colors of eye shadow makeup that go with each eye color. You can look around and find this information very quickly. Remember, if you wear colored contacts, you may have to change the shades of eye shadow that you wear. Once you know what colors you want to use, you have to know how to use them. There are some tried and true ways of adding eye shadow makeup so that you are making the most of what you have no matter what shape or size your eyes may be.

When applying your eye shadow makeup, you first want to have three shades. With green eyes, you can use both green a purple together for a good look. What you want to do is to use a light shade of purple on the lid of your eye. You can put a coat of it up as high as you want, though make sure it is not too dark. You then take a darker shade of purple eye shadow makeup along the crease at the top of your lid. You can use dark green there as well. For best application, use a thin eye shadow brush to apply. Lastly, you can then apply a very light color at the top along the bottom of the brow line. That could be a very light purple or green. It helps the brows seem shapely and opens your eyes up.

Another thing you can do with your eye shadow makeup would be to use a small amount of very light white color right under the bottom of your bottom lashes and at the inner corners. When you do this, you can make your eyes appear to be more wide open and larger than they really are. This is going to stay put better if you have a foundation on, or you can get a white eye pencil to do the same trick.
